❧❧❧ About Me ❧❧❧
Hello my name is Cathy and I am a website designer / developer / accessible digital media creator. I just completed two Owlware programs, 1) Introduction to Accessible Content & Media and 2) A TDC Digital Media Apprenticeship. So I am gaining some experience using Audacity, DaVinci Resolve and adding captioning. A navy veteran Andy Barber was kind enough to let me interview him and the results of my second edited video can be seen in the portfolio section of this website. Andy is a wonderful interview subject full of interesting tales about his time in the navy during the Korean War. He was on the Haida patrolling the Korean Peninsula islands during the armistice.
Back in 2017, I completed the YWCA’s Women In Technology Program (WIT) which includes industry certification as a CIW Web Design Specialist. I was thrilled to pieces because I was doing something that I really enjoyed doing. I also graduated in 2000 from Sheridan College with a Diploma in Computer Science Technology. Initially when I graduated from Sheridan, I did a bit of programming but ended up doing mostly software testing.
Along the way, I received two cochlear implants which was really exciting and something most people don’t get to experience.
